EXO (엑소) is SM Entertainment’s legendary boy group that debuted on April 8, 2012 with the single “Mama.” Originally 12 members split into EXO-K (Korean) and EXO-M (Mandarin), the group currently promotes as 9: Xiumin, Suho, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun. Each member was assigned a superpower in their debut lore — from Suho’s water to Kai’s teleportation to Sehun’s wind — and that comic-book-meets-K-pop concept helped redefine what a boy group could look like in the 2010s.
