BTS (방탄소년단) — short for Bangtan Sonyeondan, or “Bulletproof Boy Scouts” — is a seven-member South Korean boy group under BIGHIT Music (part of HYBE Labels), made up of RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. They debuted on June 13, 2013 with the lead single “No More Dream” and went on to completely rewrite what K-pop could be: selling out stadiums worldwide, topping the Billboard Hot 100, addressing the UN General Assembly, and turning the color purple into a global love language. In 2017, they expanded their name to also stand for “Beyond the Scene.” Their official fandom name is ARMY (Adorable Representative MC for Youth).
